Farm Girl Adventure
~virtual~

The most important thing we want to share about our programs for children…
is that we value your child's unique expression in this world.

We cherish creativity, FUN and learning!

The virtual Farm Girl Adventure
is inspired by our Farm Girl Camp!

One of our most popular programs has always been Farm Girl Camp!
This camp was started about 12 years ago, by facilitators Julie Rhem McCrary and Kristie Norwood, for girls ages 7 and up who are "farm girls at heart." Julie and Kristie both have a love for Montessori education, are trained Montessori educators and are farm girls at heart themselves!

It is an amazing experience for girls who love to be outside, love animals, and love creating. The vision of this camp is to provide a safe and loving space, nurture kindness and creativity, offer plenty of sunshine and fresh air, experiences with the farm animals and plants, and the joy of summer on the farm.

During this social isolation time, creating a safe and beautiful experience for girls that could be offered virtually makes a lot of sense! Why not create the same farm-girl community, inspire creativity, and give farm-girls-at-heart and their families a fun and lovely guided learning experience?

This virtual Farm Girl Adventure will continue the same spirit of our Farm Girl camps and other farm and nature programs.

The activities will align with the girls’ interests, and offer a wide range of activities for them to explore during our month together.

Participants will be encouraged to involve family members during the week. Things like nature walks, quiet mindful activities with family pets, wearing farm-girl aprons while helping with family cooking and meal-prep, or working with paints in journals…

Program Details:
The program is composed of:

  1. Farm-Girl Round-Up meetings (LIVE, held via Zoom) once a week for 4 weeks, starting Saturday, September 19th.

  2. Your farm-girl-at-heart will also receive her Farm Girl Adventure Box the week of September 14th.
    This box is PURE MAGIC!
(Believe me, if we could somehow send this to every young girl in the world, we would!)

Themes each week will guide participants in fun, creative activities facilitated by Julie.

Nurturing the Farm-Girl spirit of kindness, authentic expression, respect for one another and all life, and mindfulness will be guiding themes throughout our adventure together. A big part of being a farm-girl-at-heart is also nurturing your own spirit as well as that of each other — community is important.

We will learn a lot about horses during our time together this month— they are a big part of all of our Wild Heart Creating programs.

In the Farm Girl Adventure Boxes, images of the Wild Heart herd are included so they can be held and used in the journals! We will learn a lot about wisdom that the horses teach us…like being present in the moment and listening deeply to ourselves.

Week 1: Focus will be on setting up our group feeling space and getting to know each other. We will also decorate our farm-girl journals and embellish our bags. There will be suggested activities for the week ahead that involve the farm-girl journal and treasure bag.

We’ll start a seed project so that we can work on this together over the coming weeks! We will learn about how to be “kitchen sink” seed farmers and how to sprout our own seeds for a yummy nutritious snack.

Week 2: Our live session time together this week will start out in the pasture with the horses. We’ll explore what it means to be grounded and connected to the present moment — like horses. Julie will guide participants to connect with the horses “virtually” and then create some pages in our journals in response. We’ll use words as well as paints and collage. Horses can show us special qualities within ourselves when we connect with them through our hearts.

We will also choose our spirit animals — or rather, they will choose us. This is always seen as such a fun part of our physical Farm Girl Camps, and doing this virtually will be just as fun!

Week 3: We will learn about prayer flags, and start making our own. Participants will be encouraged to share about their weekly experiences. We will spend some time with all the animals — including, Mary, the Wild Heart farm goat, our chickens, cats, Jacob the Great Pyrenees puppy, and of course the horses. Participants will create their “dream farm” in their journals.

Week 4: This week’s focus is plants, trees, herbs, seeds, and flowers! Seeds are much more exciting than we give them credit for! We’ll check on the status of our seed project. We’ll use the dried flower petals in our farm-girl boxes to create some special pages in our journals.

We’ll end our time together reflecting on some of our favorite experiences this month. We’ll say goodbye, for now, to the horses and write letters to them for things we’ve learned.

Program Fee:
$230 which can be paid in one payment or 2 payments of $115 (one made upon registration, and the other prior to September 14th).
