About Via Lumen
There are many who carry a wound where faith once lived.
Perhaps you encountered God through people who wielded religion as a weapon — through shame, fear, or the hard edges of doctrine that had long forgotten its source. Perhaps you have felt the distance between the institution and the presence it was always meant to point toward. Perhaps you walked away, not from God, but from what had been done in God's name.
You are not alone. And you are not as far from the sacred as you may feel.
Via Lumen exists for the ones who are still searching — who sense that something real and alive lies beneath the layers, but haven't found a way back in. We believe that God is not contained by any single tradition, form, or institution. The divine cannot be owned, gatekept, or diminished by human failure — not even by centuries of it.
We follow the way of Jesus as a living path. Jesus moved through the world as a human being in complete union with God: a vessel of divine love, wisdom, and radical welcome. He reserved no exclusions. He built no walls. His resurrection declares that this love is stronger than death, stronger than systems, stronger than the wounds we carry.
At Mountain Spring Farm, in the mountains of Western North Carolina, that path becomes embodied. Through equine-assisted encounters, contemplative prayer, sound healing, creativity with art and writing, and the quiet wisdom of the natural world, we create space for what cannot be forced — genuine encounter with the sacred.
You don't need to have it figured out. You don't need to agree with a statement of faith. You need only be willing to show up.
The light has a way of finding those who are looking for it.
